The majority of function following a stroke will occur in the first two weeks after the acute event, but continued recovery can occur for many months following the event

How do I reach a stroke doctor or my primary doctor quickly if I think I or someone I know is having a stroke?
Time is critical to effective treatment. You should call 911 for a rapid response and a stroke team at the hospital will make sure a stroke specialist and your primary doctor are notified of your condition. Do not try and do this yourself, the time spent will decrease your chances of recovery.
